Director, Project Management

Job Summary

The Director, Project Management will lead complex cross-functional project teams working on advancing the Company's products through the stages of product development to IND and through phases of clinical development to commercialization. The position will oversee development efforts and will collaborate with functional managers, senior management to assure project aligns with corporate goals. Will be responsible for administration and financial management of project budget. Will provide expertise for planning and managing progress to ensure key requirements and milestones are identified and met.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the cross-functional project team consisting of functional area representation from clinical, regulatory, process development, manufacturing, marketing, regulatory, research, nonclinical, and legal.
  • Provide expertise for planning and managing progress to ensure key requirements and milestones are identified and met.
  • Drive the development and implementation of high-quality, cross-functional product development plans and overseeing their successful execution
  • Serve as the coordinator of project activities
  • Proactively identify, assess and manage project risks and issues
  • Provide clear direction on product development requirements
  • Clearly communicating project status, issues, and successes
  • Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and financial forecasts
  • Apply project management best practices in the development, initiation, planning, execution, control and closing of projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned/required

Education, Experience & Skills

  • Advanced degree in life sciences (MS, PhD, PharmD) preferred; MBA degree a plus
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment
  • Minimum of 7 years project management experience, preference towards preclinical and clinical development
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading strong cross-functional development teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge of drug development process
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including negotiating, influencing, and active listening
  • Fluent with regularly used software applications (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

Physical/Mental Requirements

Type/keyboard, visual acuity, sense of hearing. Use phone, fax, copier, and computer. Organize/coordinate, analyze/interpret, problem solve, plan, communicate, prepare written communications.
