Summary

In this role, you will lead development of the Global Market Access strategy for the company’s oncology pipeline. Specifically, the Head of Global Market Access will lead efforts in assessing and communicating to internal and external stakeholders the market access requirements globally for oncology, contributing to and shaping the overall value strategy for our brands throughout lifecycle. The position will build the global market access capability and team for Seattle Genetics.

Responsibilities:

  • Champion the global pricing and market access requirements for prioritized global markets throughout commercialization and ensure alignment between all stakeholders internally as to prioritized needs.
  • Lead value/payer communication strategy with relevant external stakeholders including key government agencies and organizations.
  • Lead development of global value access & pricing deliverables, working in close collaboration with Head of HEOR, Head of Global Marketing, US Managed Markets, EU Value & Access and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead development of market access planning processes and governance to ensure consistency of insights and deliverables, including Global Market Access Plans, Global Value Dossiers, Pricing Strategy and HTA Strategy; including integration into overall commercial and product strategy.
  • Lead market access input into early stage clinical programs to ensure optimization of clinical trial design aligned to payer requirements; develop early hypothesis on value drivers, pricing and market access assumptions to inform opportunities; engage in business development assessments as requested.
  • Lead, coach and develop team of Global Market Access Leads to support identification, analysis and recommendations and strategies regarding P&R policy and challenges important to company’s product portfolio.
  • Partner with US Managed Markets to ensure product-specific tools and market access strategies are aligned to customer needs; dynamic policy environment; and product strategies.
  • Develop tools and metrics to ensure optimal pricing and market access success globally.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in life sciences, marketing, business or other related field (i.e. Economics, Public Health, PharmD, Epidemiology) is required.
  • 10 – 15+ years of market access and/or other commercial experience in the pharmaceutical industry is desired. Academic or other health-related consulting company experience with expert knowledge in a relevant therapeutic specialty will be considered, with a minimum of 5 years industry market access experience.
  • Must be willing to perform, at times, in previously uncharted territory with few, if any, established guidelines or procedures. At other times, complex governmental rules and regulations must be followed. For problems surrounded by complex rules and regulations, must be able to direct compliance knowledgeably and expeditiously.
  • Proven leadership skills in a cross-functional global team environment, including both people management and functional representation/advocacy in a leadership role. Ability to effectively lead, engage, develop and maintain a team across multiple sites. Must also possess the ability to effectively represent the GVAP team and Seattle Genetics externally and internally, including to senior leadership, as the global market access champion and spokesperson to support global business strategy.
  • Proven ability to develop creative and effective solutions to emergent conflicts with significant pressure, scope and visibility, including resource constraints and other problems which may impact project or group goals and deliverables across multiple programs.
  • Experience leading complex oncology products in support of pipeline development and on-market product support; must be self-motivated and have a strong desire to see projects achieve commercial success.
  • Extensive knowledge of the global regulatory, HTA, market access and commercial landscape in oncology, as well as understanding of other commercial functions as they relate to all phases of drug development.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
